That said, it is also worth sending the lens you use the most along with the body, if you want to match a particular lens with your particular camera.

Thank you for all advice. Akira's point is what I was wondering about if Nikon does camera to lens calibration together. My most used lens on the DF are probably 24-140 f4, 50 1.8 G and 85 1.8 G, so I might send the zoom in too.

Rob, I haven't have my bodies to calibrate with a zoom.  If I were you, I might send 85/1.8G with the body, because 85/1.8G appears to be the most critical about the focusing accuracy among the lenses you named.

No they don't calibrate a body to match a specific lens, no need for that at all.

Don't be worried too much about stuff like that ;)

But the reliability of AF has been vastly improved.  Maybe they calibrated both the camera and the lens to the standard individually.  Now I need no in-camera micro-adjustment.

Picking up an older thread of mine... someone suggest APS (http://www.nikoncamerarepair.com), a third party company, to me for camera adjustment. Has anyone used them? To be honest I don't know why I would use them vs. Nikon direct, probably cheaper?

Any thoughts to share?

Thanks,
Rob.
