Lens Testing and Reviewing - LensRentals
« on: August 24, 2016, 10:53:32 »
Roger Cicala has done a really comprehensive write up on Lens Testing and Reviewing that is worth a read.

I really like his 'style' of lens testing, with multiple lenses and in depth analysis of the lenses.

I also like Roger's writings.  This blog entry would make your moderation a lot easier: you can simply put the link to it.  :D

The final paragraphs of that linked blog entry are well worth keeping in mind. Very sound and to-the-point advice.

Very intersting meta information on reviews, reviewing and reviewers. Thank you for the link.

I know these test for years, but this reflection I had missed.

Roger Cicala has been one of my favourites for years and years and years - well worth keeping up with

Cicala has brought back a type of investigative/informative report that was done by the photographic press during the film area, but had disappeared during the digital times.  Seems like anyone with a computer and a camera can operate Imatest, but almost none of the 'imatesters' can dismantle a lens or camera and then comment on the engineering or choice of materials.
