I think they all sum up pretty well why photographers continue to return to this archipelago. You really never tire of the light, the landscape and their endless variation and interaction.

I have admired the whole series and it's all good, this one is excellent!
The one thing I would have liked to see more in all the posts is a more specific mention of where the shot was taken.

Beautiful black and white and a very unusual point of view in the first one. The mountains in Lofoten are steep and fairly inaccessible even in summer; in winter conditions climbing could become a quite technical challenge. Would you care to describe how you got up there?

Thank you, Simone. Glad you like the pictures. All of them are taken on Flakstadøy and Moskenesøy. That is in the west of the Lofoten islands. The mountains in the area are mostly steep, but often there is a way up. (Just take it easy and don't look down.. ) The first picture is from Volandstinden. The small village on the right is Ramberg. And there is picture no.2 taken. This last one is from Stjerntinden. This is from the steeper division..

Knut, you should post your night-shot of Stjerntinden to show what kind of mountain it is.
Not many people have been up there, your climb to the top was quite a feat
And you have been there twice if I remember correctly!

Magnificent mountain and photo.
Quite scary, from a quick look on Google not easy to climb and also very exposed.
Even more impressed with the images, climbing it in the short winter days must not be for the faint hearted.

In this thread I sure prefer the color versions! Esp #8 with its stark colors and confusing geometry.
