The Birds
« on: March 25, 2016, 17:31:51 »
Taken last summer in the City Hall Square, here in Toronto.
I was watching a young man eating his lunch, attended by an ever-present flock of opportunistic seagulls, hoping to grab a morsel.
When a few of them suddenly took off, the scene reminded me of the Hitchcock film "The Birds" and I grabbed this shot.
motorized Nikon FA
Nikkor 24 f2 AIS manual focus
Fuji 100 ISO colour slide converted to black and white in Photoshop
exposure probably f8 @ 1/1000th.

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

You were lucky with the arrangement of these birds for sure. One of those scenes for which the outcome always is uncertain until the image comes out later.

Bjorn,
I tried very hard to keep the birds in flight completely within the field of view when I took the shot, and got a break as very few of the birds on the sidewalk were cut off by the edges of the frame.
