Autumn skies
« on: June 23, 2015, 01:41:36 »
A splendid autumn day of blustery winds, sharp little showers of rain, and dramatic skies. Except that this was June 22nd, and our topsy-turvy weather continues, with summer in March followed by a long cold spring in April, May and early June, and now it seems we are getting autumn before July is in. Weird but also occasionally wonderful.

I do wish I could show this 2-part stitch a bit bigger - it's one of those which improves with size.

The clouds suggest the turbulance of the atmosphere.  The composition of the diagonal lines converging into the right below corner enhances the emergency felt in the dooming sky.  In short, I like it.

+1.

Well seen, Dave. It really does feel autumn-ish despite the lack of autumn foliage - the pale sunlight gives this feeling. The cloud rolling over the hilltops makes the image.

Great composition and leading lines made by the dramatic clouds.  :)

Thanks, Akira, Mike and Lance for some interesting comments.

The clouds did have a doomy appearance, which is why I dashed into the house for a camera, but within a few minutes they had rolled away and the sun was shining. Temperature, 14degC  :-\
