Thank you Jørgen, JJ and Gary.

To answer the question, I had identified the sand spit since getting on the beach and worked my way toward it taking shots as the sun was getting near the horizon.
As the sun got near the horizon I positioned in what looked as a good spot for getting silhouettes in the presence of the sinking sun. I moved a bit around to vary the composition and went along shooting as the people, mainly fishermen (and fisherwomen) moved around fishing. I climbed up and down the beach from the sea level to find a place I liked for placing the heads relative to the horizon.
I had a zoom and experimented different focal lengths to have varying levels of subject isolation.

All the shots I took were single shots, not bursts, trying to anticipate a particular moment, movement or relative position of the fishermen. Overall I took 20-30 shots. A few are ok, this is the pick of the bunch.
