In the eye of the beholder

Street candid taken in Kensington Market here in Toronto.
I was passing by a tattoo parlour when I noticed a young woman standing just outside who was very heavily adorned with piercings, tattoos and large discs through her earlobes. I asked if I could take her photo. She was kind enough to say yes and I got this shot.

In my eyes her warm and friendly eyes contradict her urge to hurt herself.

I really can't comment on this entire business of "body modification" as I neither understand the need to do it, nor like the results.
However, I can say that the tattoos on her arms were very well done.
