which I am thinking about selling.
I don't do much (read: no) uw photography.
Any thoughts out there whether I should keep it or not, what I might use it for?

Sten, I have the same problem wondering what to do with my AW1?  ;D ;D ;D

Perhaps possession of an underwater camera entails one mandatory trip to a Caribbean island for one mandatory snorkeling adventure before selling said uw cam?

Alternately we could try some rainstorm or snowstorm shots??

It is a capable camera above water too, as many have proven here  :)

I have often thought that an 'underwater' camera would be great for terrestrial shots during rainy horrible weather, when you would not want to bring out a 'normal' camera, no matter what weather sealing that 'normal' camera has.

lucky you. I was thinking to pay for one because I like to spend time outside in bad weather
and I bring any camera there. I remember very well that my FM2 survived many days of continouus
rain in Ireland. She had no weather sealing but she had no electronics either.

fully mechanical shutter.

I have the original AW100. Perfect to put in the car to have a camera for odd occasions. Video is nice too.

My wife uses the AW120 as her second or 3rd camera for parties/events at the beach , poolside and on the Dive Boat (as well as underwater) .  It is also a camera she can hand to someone else to get them involved in what ever is going on, often young kids or adults who do not have a clue  ;) .  IQ is very acceptable and as Bjorn pointed out, Vids are fine for casual use/YouTube.   Nikon 1 AW1 is a different animal  :) .

Interesting, a friend who owns the Dive School has lost two AW120s underwater , went to buy the AW130 and it is cheaper (here) than the AW120???  I've been searching the NET for any negative comments that would cause the difference.  No joy.  Not  much difference except the AW130 goes deeper.
Cheers,
Tom
