Thank you Elsa.  The shot was taken with a 50mm f/1.4G @f/1.8 which is kind of unusual for this kind of subject matter.

It looked sharp on my monitor, but not the super sharp you want in a nature shot.  More like a portrait.

They are outdoors, most folks shoot this with a 70-200 f/2.8.  I was lucky because it was early.  They came close to the edge of the stage to give me a good shot.
