Two views of the Shard

At 309.6 metres, the Shard is currently the tallest building in the EU.

The angles of the glass faces change with the light and the shooting position, so here are two quite different treatments, taken close together.

Neck-twisting views of that massive glass building. It'll provide lots of photo opportunities now and in the future I assume.

I just read that the Shard was secured on 53 m tall foundation structures. That probably is required for such a huge building sitting on soft London clay.

Thanks, Bjørn, it is an interesting structure.  Being built close to the river and on London clay must have resulted in some interesting engineering challenges.
