Wow !!  the second close-up is amazing with the dewdrop (or raindrop?) accents.
These pretty weavers fascinate me.

These are big spiders. My favorites. They only appear here just at the end of the season, before frost.

Same here. I begin to see them in late August. Not sure where they are before that?!

Well, they are late bloomers. They start as tiny spiders floating in the air on silken parachutes. It is the larger females that we see at the end of summer. Often a number of smaller males live around her nest, hoping to get lucky. These large spiders don't make it past the first frosts. This is the Common Garden Spider.
