Nikon TC-1.25xED question (800mm F5.6E special version)

Hello,

I have a question about this TC.  Does it work with the FTZ?  I know when bundled with an ordinary telephoto lens, the camera will simply "ignore" the 1.25x factor.  Autofocus, VR, aperture control and so on are still passed through, and into the file as EXIF.
Will it do the same with the FTZ?  I am considering a 300mm PF and TC-1.25x combo.  My local birds are usually oblivious to humans, it would be interesting to try out.
