Great John, Martin A. shots with the 58/1.2 are really appealing.

Strange to read about the sudden review enthusiasm for a camera model now nearly 10 years old :) NG members have been fondly reporting on their Df bodies for years ....

The Nikon Df has been there, patiently waiting to be used and abused, for all these years. It still is one of the nicest Nikons ever if you warm to its charms and it is the choice of preference for say classic lenses like the 24 or 105 Nikkors.

I spotted this review a couple of days ago and what really inspired me is how good the portrait images were. If a camera inspires you to take such good photos then it must be doing something right! The review was quite balanced - only the music was annoying but then that's hardly new.

I love my Df... the video and comments below it make me stop and think.... all the things that go into the look and character of images (such as his portraits at the end):

  • camera body and controls (Df)
  • sensor
  • lens
  • post processing, and most of all....
  • the photographer!!

I think the Df has the photographer slow down and be in the moment... or maybe that is what Nikon marketing told me!
