"Message body was empty" error message

is there a feature of the forum software that checks for multiple posts, compares with previous posts etc (e.g. to prevent spamming)?

I tried to edit a message a few seconds after posting.
I got this error when I'd finished and pressed "save"
My old Android 10 tablet running Chrome may be the culprit, but the circumstances have caused other weird issues on NG.

This is more for information - doesn't need anyone to do detailed investigation

There is an interval limit for posting to avoid spamming. I think one cannot post more than once a minute or so, but haven't checked the internal settings of the forum software specifically for this.
