Portrait, Nikkor-S 35mm f2.8, Nikon D5500

A different take on my mom at home (before her haircut). I like this 35mm on a DX body -- nothing fancy or particularly sharp, just does its job. ISO 1600, f4, 1/100th second.

Is this 35 the older version with 7 elements and a large front element? I remember it was good for b/w back in my Nikon F days, which is about as long ago as I care to remember :)

This indeed has a large front element and seven elements. Mine is from the last run of Nikkor-S 35mm lenses, which have the Nikon name instead of Nippon Kogaku. Mine was built in 1972, I think, so it's a respectable 50 years old.

Gil,

This is a highly descriptive portrait, shadows and highlights revealing character and much history.
