The 13 aperture blade version of the Helios should be the better of them but I have a nice version of both. "Shinny" older versions.
The 13 aperture version I have is the one made for the "Start" camera. Think it was the standard lens for that camera.

I presume that once they ran out of sequestered jena parts and started making their own, Schott glass was no longer available, so that plus quality control issues might be a reason for differences.
