Finally Nikon  did something! Puh ... the best news since a while - I had lots of problems with this freeze issue - if this solves it than this firmware update is worth much more than all these new bells. I lost a lot of keepers this year because of these random lockups! For a while I though I am the only one but as it slowly turned out a few people had the same problem. If this heals it I will open another bottle!

I experienced AF freeze several times on the first shoot that I did with the D850. It will be interesting to see how this update affects things.

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.03 to 1.10    • The camera now also supports direct Wi-Fi connections to devices running SnapBridge. For more information, see the “Addendum to the User’s Manual” in which this feature is described. Before using this feature, upgrade to the following version of the app:
- SnapBridge version 2.5.4 or later
• Fixed the following issue:
- The camera sometimes had trouble focusing on subjects in the focus points at the edges of the frame.
   Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.02 to 1.03    • Fixed an issue that in rare circumstances would delay the shutter release or the start of the autofocus operation.
   Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.01 to 1.02    • The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.
   Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.01    • Fixed the following issues:
- Users exiting Clean image sensor after adding it to and entering via MY MENU would be returned not to MY MENU but to the SETUP MENU.
- Photos taken with On selected for Long exposure NR would sometimes have increased noise or shadows with a greenish cast.
- Slight aperture reset lag would sometimes occur after shooting at shutter speeds under 1/10 s (type E and PC-E lenses excluded).
