If anyone in Europe is in need of AF-S 28/1.4E, a large Finnish (very legit) shop VERKKOKAUPPA.COM has listed the lens as "last one - after this permanently out of stock" with a seriously discounted price of 1499.
I am not affiliated with the shop in any way. Perhaps they are dropping all Nikon stuff from their selection, I don't know. I've bought my D3X and AFS 200/2VR2 from there in the past. Very legit shop.
