Watch for this Sign

Not motivated by the presence of a very discrete fisher, this swan
is seen with a quite stretched vertical neck. This is the sign that it
is preparing to take-off — it may take a few moments but it will.







When many swans are gathering very very slowly and one or more
exhibit a stretched neck. the whole group will take-off together and
this may be pretty noisy as they need the runway.

thanks for sharing this, I have seen quite a lot of them starting (and landing) but was not aware of the stretched neck
