The Salt of the Earth
« on: July 24, 2015, 14:20:58 »
I went to see this film this week and can recommend it.
It covers the life and work of photographer Sebastião Salgado.
  • Whilst there are many driven and talented photographers out there, this held my interest
  • You might be surprised to see a movie that includes stills of B&W prints at various stages throughout, but it works

Wow, this is a great combination of two of my favorite: Wim Wenders and Sebastiao Salgado!  Thanks for sharing, Colin!

I was in Essen for the German Premiere. A great film about photography life and the environment.

Must see and must see again

Dedication meant not seeing your children for long periods
Dedication meant that family did not even know you are still alive
Dedication meant your wife's life is sacrificed for his

afterwards we say it was worth the effort and his wife believed in
his work from the start. We do not know if the children suffered

great photos and great concept by Wim to make Salgado only see
his pictures all other things blackened out from his view

very courages man. Very consequential. A lot to bare by his environment.

I concur that this film is amazing -- really mind-blowing. Not easy to digest everything.
