Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
« on: February 17, 2019, 18:04:25 »
I spent the day there yesterday photographing the birds. There's quite a variety available and here are a few of my images. All were taken either with my D500 and 70-200MM f/2.8 VR lens or my friend's Sigma 800mm f/5.6 lens. I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have as to the processing of the images, still my weak point.

If anyone is going to be in Central Florida and would like to photograph the Refuge, please feel free to contact me and, if I can swing it, I'd be happy to act as a guide. January is probably the best month because there are more roseate spoonbills in January than at other times of the year, but there are birds there year round. The Refuge is located in central Florida just South of Titusville (near Cape Canaveral).

Hi Arthur.

Some very nice shots. Thanks for sharing. I keep meaning to get up to Merritt Island but haven't yet. I live in Fort Pierce.
