Why I Love Post-Processing
« on: November 27, 2018, 00:26:05 »
After some busy day, I love the PP time that will show me
where I was brilliant — or dum like a pumpkin  — during a
shooting session on location or in studio.

This post means to share that I am relishing at this time, a
concert recorded in May 2018. This time I spend in PP, is the
only time I can really indulge listening to cool music and to-
day, these cool guys are making my day with the happiest,
most driving, and smiles pulling of all styles…

I like to listen to music recordings while at the computer.  Sometimes the music influences me to believe the photos are better than they really are.

I also listen to jazz or classical while in PP.  I hate post.  Unlike Nikon Shooter, PP never shows any brilliance in my work.  I spend a lot of time in post.  :-[

 :)

Personally I have given up looking for brilliance  .....but do spend time in post trying to raise my best images past mediocre. Like you I hate it, but today Nick Cave, David Gilmour and Ed Harcourt, did ease the pain.

I find the real solution to my PP struggles is the delete button!

So, that would be all a side effect of the F key?
Darn… and I really thought some were good! :(

Thanks for dropping by Keith. :P

I hate post.

All the gear one bought, set up, took the time to get used
to and mature, all the time and efforts come together in
the
darkroom at the PP station.

This is where it all comes true… I can't hate it.

The delete button is a necessity not a solution!

After a wildlife mentoring session with a photo club or a
master class with some other people, often students are
shocked how many "great" pictures I throw away simply
because, in a burst, just 1 or 2 are really worth keeping
for my publishing work.

PP is the consecration of all the efforts coming together.

Light is free… capturing it is not!

While no one forced me to use Adobe Lightroom, it seems to be what I use the most.

I really miss the feature in an old LR version that had a tweak called " front lighting.." For crucial stuff, I have a dual. Monitor setup. (It will accomidate 4 displays.)

Many times I watch tv or listen to music on my recliner and burn a hole on my left thigh using a single notebook.. It's  fun batch processing & using a quad i7, blowing  a lot of heat out the side.

I like to compose & shoot a lot more than post. I even shoot a lot of stuff on several cameras and later have several cards to import& cook.

(It is always nice to pull up a gem or two that I didn't know I had.)
The fun is in the foreplay.)
