interesting theory behind the appeal Airy. Will have to give it some serious thought.  Could not but react with great fond memory when you mentioned the magic word..."Cibachrome". Mongo loved colour slide film but if you had to print from a slide, a good quality cibachrome was really the only acceptable method. In those days, Mongo took advantage of the Sydney University photographic laboratories for this. Have not seen one now for approximately 30 years. Sad loss of this art as is the loss of Mongo's other favourite , platinum prints.........but do not wish to diverge from this excellent post

Excellent post indeed.

I too, liked the depth of the Cibachrome colours.  The chemistry used in the Cibachrome process was considered to be hazardous - there were many warnings on the packets even back then.

I remember I was in awe with the exhibition of a photographer 35 years ago in Munich who used Cibachrome prints from Kodachrome.  That becom my dream combination that never materialized...
