Prodibi is a Swiss company which developed an application allowing an embed of full resolution pictures in media.

Thanks, MFloyd Prodibi here! For a website, you can integrate Prodibi like a Youtube video, with a simple embed script that you paste into the HTML code.

For a forum like NG, we need to first copy paste the script part into the administration of the forum, so we need first to talk to one of the forum administrators, but it is a matter of 20min, not more. So if it is of interest for you guys, we are happy to assist. We did it for a large french forum already, and several smaller ones.
