Charro Days is the big cultural event for Brownsville, Texas. Gave me a chance to try out my gear and practice for an upcoming trip to Guatemala. I had been posting a lot of "what to take"? questions and was planning on D700/24-120/70-200 f4. But the forecast for Charro days was hot, dusty, and windy - I rented a 28-300 from Lens Rentals. The conditions were difficult - 100,000 people crammed on the sidewalks, lots of dust, bright sunny backlit conditions, etc. I missed the AF on a lot of the shots - blame it on user error, not the equipment. Here are some of the better images - all are with the D700 except the street candid which is a pocket Panasonic LX7. I'm open to comments and criticisms. Let ' rip!
