Bob, Great photo! The sun star is striking, and well placed.  I guess most don't know this is using a monochrome camera hardware conversion, with Bayer removed, thus the "M" (for monochrome conversion),
and with a BG38 internal replacement filter, giving a UV-A + Visual range.
Nice shot!

yes.. the lack of AA-filter replaced with BG-38 glass and the resolution gain of the monochrome conversion helped compensate for the diffraction loss of sharpness at f/22 that was required to get that sun star.

i am not saying i couldn't have done this with a stock camera but the monochrome conversion and BG-38 glass sure helped!

Nice winter scene with an interesting sun star.  The more-than-14 streaks are caused by the cooperation of the aperture blades and the ragged surface of the trunk?
