This leucistic trumpeter swan was imaged the same day as my last post. Leucisim is a condition where multiple types of pigment, not just melanin, is reduced in many different tissues. The eye is never effected however.
In this bird, the feet are obviously effected, going from pitch black to this color, and you can see some pigment loss on the bill as well. A lot of variation from one individual to another with this syndrome.
It was a dull overcast day, so perfect for the angelic effect.
