I already own the Nikkor 16mm AF fisheye. Using Nikon capture or fisheye hemi I may also convert the pics to something rectilinear. Field of view is very similar to 14mm after conversion...
What’s your opinion, is it worth to get additional the Nikon 14mm or the VERY similar Tamron 14mm lens?
I already read some articels from David Ruether and Prof. Dersch, but ok a 14mm rectilinear lens is always a nice photographic tool😌
Looking forward to read your always very interesting replies!

Hi,
I suspect this conversion would never yield a good quality image as the 14mm.
If you like extreme wideangles and have the funds, you should buy the 14mm, or another that doesn´t need a software to produce an image.

I thought long and hard about fisheye versus extreme wide rectilinear and in the end decided for the AF-S 20G and the AF-S 8-15E and never looked back. Both are state of the art.

I use both, they are very nice and sharp enough for most use,,, 14mm is no where as wide as the 16mm! 14mm covers much less
Hemi does a nice job if you prepare the image framing etc for it,,,
