The Last of October

With the new working week about to begin it is fair to say these are most likely my last shots of the month.
Upper Derwent valley, Peak District National Park.
Unfortunately unlike David Paterson, I have to drive further to get some decent landscapes and woodlands.

some great footage. Could have taken some in walking distance from here by the river this morning but decided to leave the camera at home and just breathe the light in

A convincing report on the autumn of this region, for sure.

The man-controlled lake levels are a bit disturbing, but in this regard I'm pretty special and sensitive coming from regulation impact assessment studies in my former life.

I don't know if that disturbs you even more, but it is an entirely artificial reservoir. It gives drinking water to Sheffield, Leeds, Derby and more.
(read it today on a plaque by the dam - the one where the so-called Dam Busters exercised with their Lancaster bombers during WWII)

It's actually two couples of bikers, even though it is not easy to see.
Each parent had attached a little trailer with a small child in it.
