UV-Nikkor f4.5 105mm
« on: July 07, 2015, 11:51:23 »
A few shots I recently made to check a new lens I got...

All shot fully open (f4.5)

Full set is here (only normal visible light images): https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/sets/72157655149125569

Admittedly one of the sharpest lenses I own. Surprisingly good bokeh for a mainly scientific lens.

Data is here: http://www.macrolenses.de/ml_detail_sl.php?ObjektiveNr=298

(and btw, the lens is uncoated)

Congratulations!

Is it New or Used?

Basically it is 'unsuited' for VIS images... without coating...

It can't be new Eric, as Nikon stopped making it many years ago ;-)

It just got it back from TLC-CLA, so this were basically test shots...

An intended "work horse", as I don't want to use my other "new" in box, all complete one in the field.

Hi, Klaus, glad to see you here!

Ditto Akira, we haven't talked for years I guess, I hope all is well!
I found this one in Osaka btw. not too far from you...

Congrats on the new lens. I like the colors.

Thanks, indeed a great lens, despite being uncoated ;-)

Here a test of a metallic precision ruler shot against the light, the worst situation, to see if there is CA.
The color artifacts are grating effects of the metallic surface.

and here a nicer looking test:

both shot fully open (f4.5)
