On the 8mm end, the vignetting is rather prone. 
Still a really fun lens, get creative with it!

The beauty of this lens however is that it also incorporates a frame filling fisheye at 15mm and anything in between

I have other prio's at the moment but this lens is definitely on the shortlist.

Haha yes indeed! But the borders are kind of blueish.

This adapted one doesn't show any blue casts.

I guess a simply circular mask will solve this issue entirely. Perhaps LR correction will work also. I personally have no idea why this happens.

Waiting to see some shots that show off what the sun stars look like at both ends of the zoom.
Don't see any obvious ghosts in some of the shots with the sun in the frame.

The product announcement mentions 7 rounded aperture blades, so you shouldn't expect good diffraction stars at wider apertures. Hopefully they straighten up quickly at smaller apertures so that well defined sun stars can be produced.

The blueish circle at the image border is' by design' for other Nikkor Circular Fisheye lenses as well - Sometimes it's more pronounced that other,,, Bjørn also mentions this in the other thread we have on the lens.
