The 28mm 1.4 design was highly over due for a makeover, a very interesting lens! Now even as an E design, wonder which type AFS moter it will have,,,

8-15mm Nikkor-fisheye will most likely be similar to the Canon siter of same focal length; Circular going to Fulframe coverage,,, Interesrting news for sure for the creatively inclined ;) Most pressing question is weather it works well in IR,,,

Gonna guess the 28/1.4 still use compact SWMs.
I just hope the coma wide open is well under control.

Looks like very nice lenses, The video linked on NikonRumors show a very nice image rendering at 8mm, I especially like how the edge fades into the surrounding although this lens also seems to have a blue circular tint at the edge like the previous circular Nikkor Fisheye lenses.

I received an official announcement message this afternoon.

Only interested in the Fisheye I ask myself: Why does it have to be a zoom and does it have to be 1500 Euros?

Agree the 8-15 does look nice although it definitively has some coma artefacts towards the periphery. The intermediate zoom positions can be useful when it is mounted on cameras with smaller format than FX presumably.

Brian Caldwell, creator of Coastal Optics 60/4 APO and other high-end optics, once told me the blue fringing was an inevitable hallmark of fisheye optics.

Because Nikon couldn't make a really good fisheye at the current price?
At least it is a small size.
