I feel the heat. Up to 30C yesterday, today perhaps more. Might not sound alarming for non-Nordic people, but the sun is up for 20 hours.

On a tangential note, your fisheye lens needs to have its front element cleeaned

whats the best way iyo to clean frontelements sofar i have used lenspen but rather infrequently as you noticed

Microfibre cloth (should be soaked in clean water from time to time, then wrung dry) and breathing onto the lens surface before wiping it gently.

Stubborn spots can be removed with a soft cloth to which a drop of window cleaner fluid (trade name 'Windex' here in my country, you spray it on windows and mirrors, smells a little funny but does the job. alternatively, use a drop of pur hexane) is added.

btw officially temps yesterday were at a 34,6 in this part of the country

We're talking about a drop or two on a microfibre cloth, not drowning the lens in fluids ...

40 degrees in Paris yesterday, that was an interesting experience. The faster I drove my scooter, the hotter it felt!
Today should be better with only 37 degrees expected.
Very unusual, and hopefuly it will remain so (unusual).

Indeed, for a short while. It was still above 30°C at 11PM yesterday. definitely a terrible day.

I like the shot, the forms and flare catch my eye ... but it doesn't say "Heatwave" to me.

I found that microfiber cloth has a tendency to collect the stuff you swipe of the lens and will not become 100% clean. Over time, the small amount of foreign matter trapped in the fiber, can became an abrasive. I am not a handle-my-camera-gear-as-if-it-is-a museum-piece kinda of guy. (In the field some spit and shirt tail works for me.) But if you have the time, I think disposal, one-shot lens tissue is the best way to go.

40 sounds amazingly hot.  I just looked at web and reported high averages for Paris in July are 25.

Pretty comfy here in SoCal, 17C at night and 27C is the daytime high. 40C seems unbearable especially with your humidity.
