What a big rear element at the 50 1.4 auto sc!
« on: January 30, 2017, 13:11:32 »
What a nice big rear element, nearly as big as the 1.2 lens.
The second pics shows additionally the 50 1.4 K, second gen, same as ai, ais and af.
Fitting the chip at the 50 1.4 sc was really tight. 😬
AI mod took some time  additionally for both lenses.

The 50 1.4 auto sc lens really renders beautiful images, with nicely soft backgrounds. The K might be better technically, but more  fun to use is the auto sc lens.

I suppose so, but the Nikkor-S has a lovely and unique signature :o :o :o

wide-open when you overexpose it, it has the ability to produce a flare one highlights and skin, making it "glow". the same can be said for the 55mm f/1.2 ::)

yes, this glow wide open ist fantastic.
And if you close the aperture it gets very sharp and contrasty.
At f2 it's fantastic for portraits 😀
sharp in the center and nice bokeh.
