Something puzzles me with this photo. Is it really an infrared capture, or is the image processed to look IR?

So I noticed, but that in itself does not exclude 'true' IR.

The author should know the answer, though.

It is processed to give the illusion of IR

My suspicion was correct then. The genuine IR appearance really requires an IR capture.

Perhaps close, but definitively no cigar :D

My perception of something amiss being was triggered immediately.

I do have an IR filter but as you know the 14-24 lens doesn't easily accommodate filters, so I just played around with some software filters.

Cigars are not part of my many sins.
"No chocolate" would be terrible!

The dark edge on the tree line and the clouds boundaries indicate heavy processing indeed. I find the exercise quite successful though, the grass is very convincing. I agree that IR simulation is nearly impossible.

Wishing you all the best for the new year
