Lovely effect, Werner.  I love the dynamic of the first one.  Is it not low on contrast?

Thanks all. John, the picture is almost OOC, no change on contrast, I only increased the white content a bit.

Here is an overview and view on the country side around (with parts of the Siegfried Line (Westwall) from WW II in the back) at the border to the Netherlands (in Aachen).
