More BG with the AF-S 105mm f/1.4E
« on: November 21, 2016, 23:37:51 »
I think this lens is kind of special, like the AF-S 200mm f/2G.
Thank you for looking.

Excellent photos!  Images 3, 4 and 7 really do it for me.  I am a sucker for photos like 3!

This lens really is something else!

A good lens in good hands.  Agree with Tristin that #3 has a special quality.

Aguinaldo, I cannot help but agree with Tristan.

I notice that you also use Zeiss glass.

Have you had the chance to use other highly regarded lenses such as the Zeiss 135mm f/2.0, and the much loved CV 125mm f/2.5?

Whilst these two lenses are not direct competitors to the new 105mm f/1.4E, never the less like the 105mm f/1.4E,  they are still highly regarded and versatile lenses that can be put to good use in a number of different applications, including those that at first sight may not be quite what one would expect them to be good at.

Excellent photos!  ..................................................................

This lens really is something else!

Amazing images, not only for the excellent bokeh but also for your familiar style.

For some reason, I like the spreading light ray kind of bokeh behind Mickey Mouse in #1.   :D

Thank you all for the kind words.

Hugh,
I don't have a CV 125mm f/2.5, but I do own a Zeiss 135mm f/2, which I have not used very much so far.
As soon as possible I'l compare these two. Very curious to see the result.

Akira,
Me and a friend also found Mickey Mouse in the plants!

Best regards to you all.

Very nice, these show very well what the lens can do, thank You!

IMHO the two other lenses mentioned are only relevant to look at/compare with, if you slow down your workflow and use a tripod or you will not be able to get the correct focus on the subject,,, This is an AF lens and the performance of the lens/camera is absolutely stunning, in the hands of someone who knows how to use them.

Thanks Erik.

To use a tripod is almost a torture to me. lol.
Changing lenses IS a complete torture. lol.
So, I'll try to use two cameras to compare the 105mm f/1.4 Nikkor and the 135mm f/2 Zeiss, a D4s and a D5.
Some things may be different, but the bokeh could be compared.
Please send me more suggestions for this test, if you like.

You are of course allowed to leave the tripod at home! :) No problem!

Unfortunatelly with such difficult to focus lens I'll have to use it.

Thank you so much Frank.
I believe this lens and the AF-S 200mm f/2G provide a mysterious quality to the pics taken with them.
