Landscape shots with the little zoom nikkor AIS 36-72mm

From a recent and short stay to Corwal (South west UK).

This location is called ''the cheesewring'' on the edge of Bodmin moor, a former mining area and also granite extraction hence many quarries .

Df + 36-72 mm zoom.

Apparently the 36-72 plays very nice on the Df. Colours seem well saturated and vivid without being 'cooked'. From personal experience I know the handling is good on this camera too.

Your Df sensor needs a little cleaning though ...

The technicalities aside, the landscape was interesting and the granite outcrops remind me of the Peak District albeit on a smaller scale.

Francis, these images are all attractive!

Dave (Paterson) and I just talked about the unique names of the places in Scotland in one of his thread, but I have realized that in fact so many names of places in entire Great Britain and Ireland are really unique and their origins tell interesting stories relating to their individual history.

I just looked into wiki and realized Bodmin was one of such places.  And your images are just as intriguing as the history of the place.

@ Bjørn : my sensor really needs a cleaning. I will try to do it by myself. As for handling, this lens is now permanently in my bag...

@  Akira : the Cornwal history is very interesting. mining (copper and tin), china clay extraction (kaolin), even prehistory. What I really like, is the purity of air and near zero pollution (almost only pastures and grazing)

And the 36-72 Nikon SE lens is still dirt cheap ... seen it down to $20 on eBay, double that and the offerings are plentiful.

A true insider's tip if there ever was one.
