I forgot to mention that #2 reminded me of the movie "The Third Man".  So, the combination of the title of the series, the Ferris wheel and the overall tone of the image makes perfect sense!

Great images as well

#1 is to me the most interesting to me, I'm a bit puzzle with the processing, particularly why the ground is so dark, it really  works, just wondering if that is an overall filter or more localized burning, very very nice

I realize i have missed the very high contrast style, and the very compelling composition, thanks for sharing your images

Thanks to all for the responses.

Armando, the ground was very dark farmland.  A storm was approaching and as I raised the camera to shoot, a brief shaft of sunlight hit the crosses.  I then burned the ground even more in post processing to get the effect I wanted.
