Knut, these are very nicely composed and rendered.  I like the open shadows in the dark rocks, I'm not a fan of heavy contrast in these kind of landscapes (seascapes, I guess).  Of the two I prefer the second.  To me the sky is more dramatic, and it retains more texture in the wave-washed rock - both better preserved by the shorter exposure, I think.

I like that the rock formation breaks above the horizon in the second photograph and I have a fondness for b&w.

I second the preferences for the second image, even though the first is nice.

I prefer the second for the better "image" of the wild sea, which is still visible due to the shorter exposure time. In the first this is "washed away" by time, pardon the pun.

Thanks for your comments everyone, and glad you like them. :) It's fun playing with time in long exposures. See how the mood is changing with time.

I like this fantastical long exposure effect.  I also prefer the second one.  I like the sense of space.
