Trudeaumania
« on: October 01, 2016, 01:53:34 »
During his two terms in office (April 1968-June 1979 and March 1980-June 1984) as Canadian Prime Minister, Pierre Elliot Trudeau became the darling of the media and a Canadian phenomenon known as "Trudeaumania" came into being.
In 2015, Justin won the Federal election and became the first son of a former PM to also hold the office.
Once again Trudeaumania has swept the country and he has become a Pop icon.
This June he attended Gay Pride here in Toronto and shooting with my camera above my head, I got some shots of him as he waded into the crowds.
To show the size and scope of the crowd, I used a wide lens
In this photo, he is the man in the white shirt underneath the black light fixture on the left hand pillar.

Justin Trudeau our new Prime Minister became the first Canadian head of state to attend Gay Pride. As soon as he got out of his car, a roar went up from the crowd and he immediately walked to the edge of the barriers to high-five and shake hands with members of the crowd.
The two rather large, unsmiling gentlemen to either side and slightly behind the PM are members of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Security Detail, assigned to guard him.
Needless to say, their facial expressions indicated their state of mind as the PM and the crowd engaged in a lovefest.

Interesting cameos of your unusual PM.  If I recall correctly his father Pierre was reputed to have taken showers in his socks - eccentricities must run in the family!

Hugh,
Can't speak to the issue of P.E.T. showering in his socks, as I never showered with him. But nevertheless, eccentric he was.
I have been well, thank you, but for about the last month or six weeks, I've been in a bit of a mental funk and haven't been shooting, scanning or posting.
But I led a street photography workshop last Saturday, am judging at photo club next week, and will be giving a seminar on street photography in two weeks, so I've pulled myself out of the mental hole I was in and am once again enthused about photography.

Can't say that I have showered with P.E.T. either (or anyone else).  LOL!

Glad that you have revived your photographic juices Robert - we all hit the wall sometimes (well I know that I often do).

I'm glad that you see light again. Being in a mental hole is never a good place to be, regardless whether you pick up photography again. I'm glad you are though, good to see you and your pictures back here!

Armado,
Except for me, during the workshop no one else is shooting film.
The club I'm a member of has about 120 members, and I'm it. The only film shooter.
