From May 13 to May 22 I traveled to some parts of Greece I had never visited. The main purpose of the venture was to photograph birds, but, as you well know, it is not easy to resist shooting close ups, landscape, etc. The first place I visited was lake Kerkini. The lake was created in 1932,
after the dam built on the river Strymon. Under the Ramsar Convention, it is one of the 10 Greek wetlands of International Importance. I will start posting photos from Kerkini first. All were taken with a D500 + TC-14E III + 300mm PF (unless otherwise noted).
Photos 1-3: Pelicans. 4-5: crested grebe. 6-7: night heron.
