Unfortunately, not the elusive ED lens head. The package comes with the excellent AU-1 focusing adapter though.

The asking price is way overinflated. Although the 1200 mm lenses are scarce, they aren't that valuable even as collector's items.

I have the 1200/11 ED-IF and it is a great performer. Probably the ED lens head version is equally well behaving. The very rare 800/8 ED lens head is far superior to the 800/8 ED-IF, so there are no easy way to predict the performance of these oldies apart for actual testing them.

I'm sure its a fine lens, but I reckon I would have had a hard time explaining that I'm not carrying a rocket launcher :)

In our trigger happy state (Victoria, Australia), some cop would shoot you dead and claim it was self defence if you tried to use it to take a photograph.  And he would probably get promoted on the strength of his actions.  Even worse if you were to resurrect one of those old pistol grip follow focus teles that Novoflex and others used to sell back in film days.  The loonies would  report you for sure for trying to launch a surface-to-air missile against an airliner or the like!
