Harald - I see you posted the photo in the "critique" section - and I have therefor looked at it as such.

The composition is totally wrong - what I mean by this, is that the cat is a half a cat. If you photographed in Landscape format instead of portrait orientation, you would have had the whole cat in. If you didn.t want the whole cat in - you could have gone with a much closer crop of the face. Not much of the background adds value to the image.
The cat is a tad dark - I would have lifted the shadows a bit and accentuated the contrast.
It also appears if you focussed in front of the cat - and not on the eyes/face. Focus point should be in the eyes.
I assume this is your cat - if so - lets see what you can do

Harald, I agree with Elsa that a "landscape" orientation probably would have served the shot better, but disagree that the eyes must be in focus. Usually, it works out better if the eyes are in focus, but not always.
Peter: ha ha.... I was going to comment on the amazing extreme depth of field in your shot, but then scrolled to see it was shot with a tiny sensor-size camera.

It is! He even owns another one which looks pretty much the same. So he's able to do cat stacking.

But on to the critique! Next time, try to hold the camera at the same height as the cat's head and don't shoot from above. Also try to make the composition more interesting by moving the main subject away from the middle of the picture. But that's easier said than done with cats that tend to move here and then. Also using the 50/1.2 might might add some difficulty
