Reflections on an Oakland Gothic Revival Skycraper
« on: June 02, 2016, 08:13:30 »
Nikkor 105mm f/1.8 Ai-s @ f/16

I happened by at the right time last week and noticed this building had reflections coming off a nearby building.  I only had my 50mm with me, which was not the right lens for the job.  So I returned today with my 105mm and waited around for the reflections to crawl their way up the entire building.

Very nice with those reflections, well spotted. Lots of details. I also have the 105 f/1.8 AIS, and it is a very capable lens (especially in the hands of a capable photographer).

Looks like fine solar-powered visual entertainment for the local citizens, except for the folks in the gothic revival skyscraper.

I like it when light models object and I like your capture also with the environmental part.

Congrats, Tristin, on the seeing and the returning for the doing.  Well worth it.

Good picture. Lots to look at - the gothic revival building, the striking contrast between the gothic revival and the modern industrial rooftop and of course all of the reflections seen throughout.

Great picture, perfectly timed impressive light effect on the building.  Personally I find the darker left side a bit distracting.

Thanks for the compliments all.

John, I have been leaning towards cropping it for that reason.
