How to stop seeing new replies?

There are some threads that I commented on early on and which keep getting comments but that I no longer wish to keep following.

These continue to pop up in "Show new replies to your posts". I have tried and failed to find a way of stopping these recurring - any tips?

When you reply, clicking the link "Attachments and other options" allows you to uncheck "notify me of replies" option.  Wouldn't that stop the thread to show up?  I'm afraid that this is just my wild guess, though.

Well I just looked at this and it's not ticked. Also I think this refers to notifications that you get by email.

For me, there were threads that looked interesting when they started out but maybe got diverted onto something I'm less interested in.
I just wondered if there was an option to set selected ones so they didn't appear in "Show new replies to your posts" (Top RH corner of the screen)

Colin, this forum software unfortunately does not have a way of "following" and "un-following" topics.
When I next get a chance to look into improvements, I will try to find a mod for this.

This is almost a year late!! I should have pointed out a feature to you in response to your question.

If you check the box next to a listed post in "Show new replies to your posts"
and then click "Mark Selected Read" underneath the post list,
the checked posts will no longer show up in your list.
This helps keep the list relevant to your current interests.

However I must be missing something - I can't see any box next to the posts.
This is what I see when I view this page using Chrome, MS Edge or Safari on my iPad. Can you advise where the box is that I should be checking?

Well that is strange indeed!!
Geez Colin, I'm sorry this did not show up for you.
I'll try to find out the problem. It might be some kind of permissions thing.

Can you show a screen shot of how it looks for you?
It may be that with Admin rights, you get some extra bells & whistles that us mere mortals aren't allowed to have

I fixed it for you. Turns out the setting was actually under your control in your forum profile as follows.

Go to:  Profile > Modify Profile > Look and Layout
Then scroll to the very last setting which reads: Show quick moderation as {don't show/checkboxes/icons}.
Choose the checkboxes setting.

Now, it is very unlikely that any of us - including ME - can decrypt that the setting "Show quick moderation" has anything at all to do with the "Show new replies to your posts" page!! 
It took me a while this afternoon to discover this fact.

Please try again. And thank you for being so nice about this! I'm sorry I did not get the answer the first time around. I misinterpreted the situation as being about "following" topics.

I hope it does not take too long for you to clean up your New Replies pages.
