I also like your photo, especially the vintage look. I think it is a surprising composition, perhaps because of the asymmetry in distances between the violins (perhaps an illussion).. The symmetry in lines works well. The softness adds to the mood. However, the asymmetry mentioned puzzles me. If that was your intention, it worked. ;-)
May I ask what you want to express in this photo? Whatever it is, I like it
It is a strange one as the spacing distance and height of the Violins is exactly the same. My Art teacher at school always taught us and insisted on drawing with Perspective in mind and Composition being the second visual aspect of design and painting.......his teachings stayed with me and my photography. I always aim for a good perspective at the cost of a good composition......for Artsy/Farty images.
My teacher use to say, "get the perspective right and your composition will be right"
Composition for me comes naturally, however Perspective has to be worked on.
In this image, looking for Parallax, and with the help of such angle and a 3 points perspective and the use of a lens to bring all together......this is the kind of result that I was aiming to achieve.
(The lens used was a Leica R Summilux 50/1.4 E60 probably at anything between f1.2 to 1.6 as it is difficult to tell with such lenses where the mount has been changed to be used with Nikon and many of my Leica lenses go beyond the original fstop clicks due to the mounts.
I usually use Leica R lenses for such shoots)
As for your last question. I do not wish to express anything in this image as well as in all of my images. I simply enjoy making them and leave it to the viewer to read his own story. I do not have a story.
I am flatered that you like my image. Thank you.
