Coffee and crepes...
« on: March 30, 2016, 15:15:22 »
...at a tiny food van at the ski area of Iimori, Japan. Perfect for a mid morning espresso break.

Shot with a Nikon 1 J5 - so easy to slip into a pocket.

great contrasting colours. Pity about the van behind the flag.

I'm sure the poor customer really longed for the advertised 'ice cold coca-cola' ....

My main gripe with the image is that it is quite underexposed and thus appears flat and dull. Snow should come out brighter.

I'm aware that such inherently contrasty scenes may tax the dynamic range of the little CX-format camera, but improvements should still be within reach.

Elsa - thank you. Agreed about the other van - unfortunately the food van was in the car park. Here is another view without the other van.

Bjørn - thanks for your observation. Agree, and attach another view which I converted using ACR instead of PN. Colours came out lighter and less lurid to my eyes.
