The only trick actually was to flex the knees so the top of the tree in the background would be at the "right" level. The cold rendition is an accidental result of 1) overexposure (I left the camera in M mode with too slow a speed for the ambient lighting), and 2) the camera being slightly fooled by the blazing sun. Auto WB chose 4300 K, which is way too low. I just left it as is. I use to say "the lens is the filter", this time I'll add "the camera is the painter".

Mongo very much likes this beautful image Airy. Jakov said it well. It has both the elements of colder blue steel and the gentle softness of the texture and soft golden colours of the tall reeds. A very interesting mix of elements in a well framed image. We have identical reeds in Australia

Airy, the image actually looks like an IR one shot with a Lifepixel-modified camera, which also adds a special atmosphere to the image.  And yes, the camera is indeed the painter but is surely reflected the owner's artistic mind, consciously or subconsciously.

It's delicate and sweet.   And the advantage of shooting in M-mode

Ethereal. The fact that it is surrounded by man-made mammoths makes it lyrical and dramatic, even stronger in its light and gentle way of being. The contrast with the cool background -mind by you or the camera, the last decision is always yours...- gives yet another layer of contrast. After reading the introduction, you have successfully capture the invisible.
