Riding the Rocket
« on: February 17, 2016, 00:58:44 »
Taken in Chinatown here in Toronto, a few weeks ago.
I was walking on Dundas Street when a streetcar (commonly known in Toronto as a Red Rocket) came abreast of me and stopped because of the heavy traffic. I liked the interesting interior scene of the passengers and took this shot.

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

I have trouble with this one. Ordinary the "film look" makes for an interesting twist of the scene, sometimes even enhancing the overall impact. Here the poor quality simply makes the scene rendered life-less and murky. Perhaps the lens isn't that good, or the exposure is way off. I don't know for sure. A pity as the motif deserved better.

Bjorn,
Thanks for your candor.
I disagree completely with your assessment but still appreciate your comments.

Sure, hadn't expected anything else .... We should each chose the suitable path to fulfil our visions.

However, I still cannot free myself that there is unleashed potential here. Is the scan of the film really showing the image to its best? The squished dynamics and colour casts to me, at least, indicate otherwise.
